Después…

A few years ago, loss, absence, and emptiness suddenly came into my life.  Little by little, after meditating about that imposed abyss, I landed on a better understanding of life and its way of teaching us: its process, its mission, its inevitable end, and I started wondering what was next.

Después… came from the need for reflection about what doesn’t have a begining or ending.  I have been faced with the Universe’s mystery, its empty or filled space, its fascinating attraction and its terrifying immensity.

With this series, I wonder about the history of the cosmos, about its changes and its gradual dissappearance, as if it were slowly dying with a quiet sobbing.

I have invoked its enormity, looking for an answer to my own inner state.

The numbers that the cosmos has in its structure made me relate each one of these paintings to a number and a color that identifies that number.   From the number and its corresponding color, I have reflected different attitudes to face life.  On each painting I answer about what’s next, about the magnitude that boggles me and awaits for me on each sunrise.
